Woningpas is a tool of the Flemish government that provides information about your home or plot of land. Through this free digital passport, you can find all relevant and digitally available information that the Flemish government has about your property in one central place.
Challenges
This is one of the first projects I’ve worked on in my career. And I worked on it for about 4 years. The project came with a few challenges. One of them was I had to use the limited “Vlaanderen” branding and web components, that are not that fancy. But I did try to make some small visual tweaks where possible. Another big challenge was making sure every person who owns a property in Vlaanderen would be able to use this webapp. We did a ton of testing to enhance the user experience.

Another big challenge was keeping track of the latest designs. That’s why I starded building out a design system and design portal. The design system hold all components and building blocks to build pages. The portal keeps track of all pages in the web application.

Woningpas is a webapplication that will be used more often. More homeowners will get in touch with it when selling their property. Also more and more pages and information will be captured on this application. I hope VEKA will make this a mobile app in the future so more people get easy access to this information. Everywhere they go.
