Naming

By experimenting with phonetics, “Brief” (meaning “letter” in Dutch) evolved into “Breev”. The name also subtly connects to the English word “brief”, meaning fast, smooth, and concise — perfectly reflecting the company’s vision of efficient communication.

Logo

One of my favorite parts of branding is designing the logo. It feels like solving a creative puzzle. A great logo should be simple yet distinctive, scalable across every medium, and clearly reflect the essence of the brand. At the same time, it needs the flexibility to stand the test of time—evolving naturally as the brand grows. In the screenshot underneath, you can find my logo exploration phase.

Visual identity

Beyond the name and logo, I created a cohesive visual identity that combines a clean font with a palette of bright and neutral colors. These elements work flexibly across Breev’s various services and communication touchpoints. The entire system was captured in a comprehensive brand book to ensure consistency across future applications.

Brandsystem

When creating a brand book, it’s essential to document every detail thoroughly for future reference. This ensures that the marketing team or internal designers can confidently create new assets while staying consistent with the brand’s identity. Using many shapes can sometimes lead to confusion — questions may arise such as: How should I use them? Can I rotate them? What’s the correct corner radius? Where should the logo be placed? To address this, I developed a design system that provides clear guidelines and ready-to-use components. This allows anyone to design within the brand framework quickly and consistently.
